Hi. I’m James, since79.

1979 – Born to Kim and Van in Pomona, California.

1984 – Ran away one day after pre-school and went to a classmates house, because she had the largest collection of Crayola crayons I’d ever seen. Awesome, right? My poor mom was able to track me down by the end of the day.

1994 – Discovered the love for DJing, which helped keep me out of trouble (sort of).

1996 – Discovered Corel Draw and Photoshop. I put the pencil, markers, and yes, crayons down for a bit since this moment. Started designing party flyers and CD covers for friends.

1997-2002 – After realizing that I wasn’t good with biology or computer programming, I finally ended up graduating Cal State Fullerton with a major in Graphic Design.

2003-2005 – I was fortunate to find employment in my field for a couple mid-sized companies that unfortunately in the end didn’t do too well.

2005-2007 – I fell into the life of a freelancer getting my taste for ad agencies and big corporations. I was soon able to obtain a full-time position at an agency that I was freelancing at.

2008-2009 -  A lot of opportunities started to float my way and I decided to continue perusing my freelance career while I searched for the next big opportunity. In order to pursue bigger dreams, I started taking The Book Shop, a workshop for aspiring art directors and copywriters to polish their craft.

Present – I’m currently working in the Teams level and will be in the process of developing my portfolio to the next level while staying busy with my freelance career. I’m also making mixtapes whenever time allows—it still keeps me out of trouble til this day.
